WHEN TO CHANGE A TIRE ?

The tire is the only part of the car that is in direct contact with the ground. In the long-time driving activities, it is bound to produce greater wear and tear. If the tire is not replaced in time, it may cause unnecessary loss of life and property. When to change a tire?

1.check tire production date
As a rubber product, tires inevitably face the problem of aging, so even we are not used for a long time, they still have a certain shelf life. It is generally believed that the life of tire is 4-5 years. When the tire life is approaching, check the tire condition frequently and replace it in time.

2. check tire wear
TWI (tire wear indicator) is a sign that the tire tread has reached its limit. It’s at the bottom if the tread pattern (more than 6 marks on the tire). when the tread wears to the depth, groove breaks are no longer continuous, it means that the tire is worn out, the pattern is about to be flattened, and it can no longer be used, need change. Otherwise, the anti-skid and drainage performance of the tire will be significantly reduced, and it is very easy to slip which is very dangerous.

3. check the tires for obvious scratches.
There will inevitably be some scratches on the tire surface, and some serious ones need attention, such as convex hulls, missing blocks, cracks, etc. these scratches may not have a big impact on the normal driving of the car for a while, but it will caused great risk of air leakage or tire blowout. If the tire has obvious and large scars, it should be replaced in time.
